Mesh privacy notice
How Mesh handles information used for business communications.
Last updated: 22 September 2026. Prepared for the initial Australian release of Mesh Communications, provided by Style Finish Design Pty Ltd. Contact chris@style.net.au about this notice or your personal information.
Information used by Mesh
- Account information: staff name, work email, assigned business number, personal verification mobile, account identifiers and sign-in/security records.
- Communications: message content, participants, photos, notes, call details and voicemail. When recording and transcription are enabled, this includes recorded audio, transcripts and generated summaries.
- Business contacts: customer names, phone numbers, emails and other details supplied to the connected business directory.
- Connected business information: relevant contact or order information from services such as QSP or Shopify when your organisation enables them.
- Device and service information: device registration and push tokens, delivery status, IP addresses, approximate location inferred from IP addresses for call diagnostics, call-quality information and technical/security diagnostics. Mesh does not request GPS location access.
- Support information: information you choose to provide when asking for help.
Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate users, route and deliver calls and messages, maintain business conversation history, display contacts, send notifications, provide support and protect the service. Your organisation manages staff access and communication settings. Colleagues with authorised access may see relevant business conversations and contact details.
Camera, photos and microphone
Mesh requests microphone access for calls, camera access when taking a photo, and photo access when choosing an image. Photos you send become part of the business conversation. You can manage device permissions in your iPhone or Android device settings. Turning a permission off may prevent the related feature from working.
Service providers
Mesh uses its hosted backend and service providers to operate the service. These include Twilio for communications, SMS verification and enabled voice-processing features; Expo, Apple and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for notification delivery; Cloudflare for network delivery; and Microsoft for enabled sign-in and invitation-email features. QSP and Shopify are used when connected by the organisation.
Information may be processed outside Australia by these providers. We do not claim that all information stays in Australia or that ordinary phone calls and SMS are end-to-end encrypted.
Recordings and AI text
Call recording and voice processing depend on the organisation’s settings. Administrators are responsible for the notices and permissions appropriate to their calls. Generated transcripts and summaries may contain mistakes and should be checked against the conversation.
How long information is kept
Business conversation history and contact information do not currently have a general automatic expiry. They are kept while needed for the service and the organisation’s documented retention obligations, subject to deletion requests and applicable requirements.
Recorded-call audio and associated transcripts and summaries are configured for a 24-month retention period. Deletion may take additional time to finish if a provider is temporarily unavailable. This period does not apply automatically to every message, voicemail or other business record.
Backups can retain previous copies after information is removed from the active service. Automatic database backups use a rolling retention period; separately retained recovery copies need to be included in any deletion assessment. We do not promise that every backup or provider copy is removed immediately.
Your choices and requests
You can manage device permissions, sign out, and ask for access to or correction of personal information. Contact chris@style.net.au for help or a privacy complaint. We may verify your identity before providing information or making changes.
See the account-deletion page for the request process and completion target.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when the service or its handling of personal information changes and show the updated date on this page.
